Target Information
Rat mitogen-activated protein kinase 14 (MAPK14, p38α) is a 43-kDa serine/threonine kinase ubiquitously expressed in rat tissues-with high levels in immune cells, liver, and kidney. It functions as a core component of the MAPK signaling pathway, activated by inflammatory cytokines, oxidative stress, and cellular damage. It regulates gene transcription by phosphorylating downstream substrates, modulating inflammatory responses, cell proliferation, apoptosis, and tissue repair. As a key mediator of stress and inflammatory signaling, rat MAPK14 is a critical target for studying inflammatory diseases, neurodegenerative disorders, and stress-related pathological mechanisms.
