Target Information

Rat MFAP5 is a secreted extracellular matrix protein with conserved fibrillin-binding and cysteine-rich structural domains that maintain stable protein conformation under physiological conditions. It deposits within connective tissue microfibrils of vascular, dermal and pulmonary cell populations. Its extracellular fibrous structural framework and mesenchymal tissue-enriched expression differentiate it from plasma membrane receptors, cytoplasmic signaling adaptors and intranuclear transcriptional regulators with streamlined single-domain assemblies and static single-compartment subcellular localization profiles.
