Target Information
Rat mannose-binding lectin (MBL) is a liver-derived pattern-recognition protein that initiates the lectin complement pathway. Upon binding mannose-rich surfaces it activates MASP proteases, triggering C4/C2 cleavage and opsonization independent of antibodies. Constitutively present in plasma, MBL serves as a sensitive, species-specific marker of innate immune status. Antibodies selective for rat MBL provide clean western and ELISA signals devoid of cross-reactivity to collectins, enabling accurate quantification of lectin pathway activity in infection, inflammation and metabolic disease models.

This product is shipped with wet ice packs. Store at -20°C on receipt (up to 12 months). Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody.
