Specifications
Target Information
Rat latrophilin 2 (LPHN2) is a G-protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) with a large extracellular N-terminal region, a core regulator of cell adhesion and signal transduction. It features a conserved lectin-like domain, an olfactomedin-like module, a hormone receptor motif, and a seven-transmembrane helix domain critical for G-protein coupling. It localizes predominantly to the plasma membrane of rat neuronal cells, smooth muscle cells and endothelial cells, with negligible expression in hematopoietic tissues. The protein mediates cell-cell communication via extracellular ligand binding, with conserved structural motifs differentiating it from LPHN1 and LPHN3 isoforms.
