Target Information

Rat Interleukin 6 (IL6) is a multifunctional cytokine involved in regulating immune responses and inflammation. It is produced by various cell types, including T cells, B cells, macrophages, and endothelial cells. IL-6 plays a crucial role in the acute-phase reaction, stimulating the liver to produce acute-phase proteins. It also promotes the differentiation of B cells into plasma cells and induces antibody production. Additionally, IL-6 influences T cell differentiation and is involved in hematopoiesis. In rats, IL-6 is essential for maintaining immune homeostasis and responding to infections and tissue damage.
