Specifications
Target Information
Rat inter alpha-globulin inhibitor H1 (ITIH1) is a secreted glycoprotein of the inter-alpha-trypsin inhibitor (IαI) family, a key component of extracellular matrix and plasma protein networks. It features a conserved N-terminal Kunitz-type protease inhibitor domain, central tandem repeat motifs, and a C-terminal heavy chain domain critical for structural integrity and hyaluronan binding. It localizes to rat blood plasma and connective tissue extracellular matrices, with tissue-specific expression in liver, kidney and lung, and negligible levels in skeletal muscle and neural tissues. The protein mediates extracellular matrix stabilization and protease activity regulation, with conserved motifs for protein-protein interaction and glycosaminoglycan binding. Rat ITIH1 shares core functional domains with mammalian orthologs, and has distinct tissue distribution characteristics differentiating it from ITIH2 and ITIH3.
