Rat ITGA1 is a large transmembrane glycoprotein with conserved extracellular ligand-binding domains and cytoplasmic signaling tails that sustain stable protein conformation under physiological conditions. It heterodimerizes with beta subunits on the plasma membrane of fibroblasts, endothelial and mesenchymal cell populations. Its cell-surface adhesion architecture and broad connective tissue expression differentiate it from soluble secreted growth factors, cytoplasmic transduction mediators and intranuclear transcriptional regulators with streamlined single-domain assemblies and static single-compartment subcellular localization profiles.
