Rat GBP4 is a cytoplasmic GTPase protein with conserved guanine nucleotide-binding domains that sustain stable protein conformation under physiological conditions. It is highly expressed in immune cell populations and forms dynamic intracellular complexes responding to cellular stimulation signals. Its multi-domain enzymatic architecture and immune-biased tissue distribution differentiate it from secreted signaling cytokines, transmembrane cell surface receptors and nuclear chromatin transcription factors with simplified single-domain assemblies broadly present across non-immune somatic cell subgroups.
