Target Information

Rat Galectin 5 is a secreted β-galactoside-binding lectin that regulates cell adhesion, migration, and immune responses. It is predominantly expressed in the gastrointestinal tract and immune tissues, where it modulates epithelial barrier integrity and leukocyte trafficking. Galectin 5 also influences apoptosis and cytokine secretion. As a key glycan-dependent signaling molecule, it is a valuable target for studying mucosal immunity and inflammatory processes.
