Target Information

Rat ficolin 1 (FCN1) is a 35-kDa soluble lectin and key component of the innate immune system. It recognizes carbohydrate motifs on microbial surfaces via its fibrinogen-like domain, initiating complement activation and opsonization for pathogen clearance. Expressed in rat myeloid cells (neutrophils, monocytes) and mucosal tissues (respiratory, gastrointestinal), it mediates first-line defense against infections. Beyond pathogen recognition, it modulates inflammatory responses and tissue homeostasis. As a critical mediator of innate immunity and host-pathogen interactions, rat FCN1 is a vital target for studying infectious diseases, inflammatory disorders, and immune regulatory mechanisms.
