Target Information
Rat E1A binding protein p300 (EP300) is a 240-kDa nuclear acetyltransferase ubiquitously expressed in rat tissues, with enriched levels in liver, brain, and immune cells. As a core transcriptional co-activator, it mediates histone acetylation and interacts with diverse transcription factors (e.g., STAT3, AP-1), regulating gene networks involved in rat cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, and metabolic homeostasis. Critical for physiological processes including tissue repair, immune response, and embryonic development, its dysregulated activity associates with carcinogenesis, metabolic disorders, and inflammatory pathologies. As a key mediator of epigenetic regulation and transcriptional control, rat EP300 is a critical target for studying epigenetic mechanisms, disease pathogenesis, and epigenetically directed therapeutics.
