Rat DOK7 is a cytoplasmic adaptor protein containing conserved pleckstrin homology and phosphotyrosine-binding domains to preserve stable protein conformation under physiological conditions. It shows prominent expression in skeletal muscle cell populations and mediates membrane-localized protein complex assembly. Its multi-domain intracellular scaffold structure and muscle-enriched expression differentiate it from secreted circulating signaling factors, plasma membrane transmembrane receptors and chromatin-associated nuclear transcriptional regulators with simplified single-domain architectures and widespread multi-tissue expression patterns.
