Target Information

Rat dihydrolipoyl dehydrogenase (DLD, E3) is a 54 kDa FAD-linked homodimer that re-oxidizes lipoamide swinging arms within pyruvate, α-ketoglutarate, and branched-chain keto-acid dehydrogenase complexes. A solvent-exposed 16-aa "KVE" loop (aa 189-204) between the FAD and NAD+ domains folds into a β-hairpin unique among rat flavoproteins, presenting a conformational epitope preserved after aldehyde fixation. Affinity-purified antibodies targeting this loop trace native DLD in mitochondrial matrices of liver, heart, and hippocampal neurons, delivering crisp reticular staining and single-band clarity on immunoblots with no cross-reaction to other flavoenzymes.
