Target Information
Rat dickkopf like protein 1 (DKK1) is a secreted glycoprotein of the DKK family. It features conserved N-terminal signal peptide, cysteine-rich domains 1 and 2, and a C-terminal region critical for structural stability and intermolecular interaction. It localizes to extracellular matrix and cell surface, with tissue-specific expression in rat embryonic tissues, bone marrow and kidney, with minimal levels in adult muscle and brain. The protein mediates WNT signaling modulation, with conserved motifs for receptor binding. Rat DKK1 shares core functional domains with mammalian orthologs, and has distinct binding specificity differentiating it from DKK2 and DKK3.
