It concentrates highly in actively proliferating cell populations and assembles transient molecular complexes to process nucleotide substrates inside cytosol. Its multi-domain nucleotide-metabolizing structural framework and cell cycle-correlated expression distinguish it from soluble secreted cytokines, integral membrane transporters and nuclear transcription factors with simplified single-domain assemblies enriched within quiescent somatic cell subgroups.
