Rat Cytokeratin 19 is a type I intermediate filament protein expressed in simple and stratified epithelia. It forms heteropolymeric filaments with type II cytokeratins, providing structural support and mechanical stability to epithelial cells. Cytokeratin 19 is widely used as a marker for epithelial differentiation and is often associated with tissues undergoing repair or remodeling. Its expression is also linked to epithelial barrier function and cellular integrity.
