Rat Cytokeratin 10 is a type I intermediate filament protein predominantly expressed in the suprabasal layers of stratified epithelia, such as the epidermis. It forms heteropolymers with type II cytokeratins to provide structural stability and mechanical strength to epithelial cells. Cytokeratin 10 plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of the epidermis and protecting against physical and environmental stress.
