Target Information

Rat Cytoglobin is a member of the globin family, involved in intracellular oxygen transport and storage. It is expressed in various tissues, including the heart, liver, and brain, where it plays a role in maintaining cellular oxygen homeostasis. Cytoglobin can bind oxygen and may also participate in the detoxification of reactive oxygen species. Its expression is regulated by hypoxia and other stress conditions, suggesting a role in cellular adaptation to low oxygen environments. Cytoglobin is an important target for studying oxygen metabolism and cellular stress responses in rat models.
