Target Information
Rat coagulation factor IX is a vitamin K-dependent glycoprotein essential for blood coagulation. It is a key component of the intrinsic pathway, where it is activated to factor IXa by factor XIa. Factor IXa then forms a complex with factor VIIIa, calcium, and phospholipids to activate factor X, driving the coagulation cascade toward thrombin generation. This process is crucial for maintaining hemostasis and preventing excessive bleeding. Factor IX is synthesized in the liver and circulates in the blood.
