Target Information
Rat Cluster of Differentiation 72 (CD72) is a type II trans-membrane glycoprotein expressed on B lymphocytes and dendritic cells. Its cytoplasmic tail carries ITIM motifs that recruit phosphatases, dampening B-cell receptor signals and preventing auto-reactivity. CD72 also binds the alarmin CD100, thereby regulating adhesion, migration, and immunoglobulin production. Constitutive expression on developing and mature B cells makes it a reliable phenotypic marker. Antibodies to rat CD72 enable precise detection of B-lineage populations and functional analysis of inhibitory signaling in rat immunological and autoimmune models.
