Target Information

Rat CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein alpha (CEBPA) is a 42 kDa bZIP transcription factor whose N-terminal trans-activation domain and C-terminal basic-leucine zipper bind CCAAT motifs, orchestrating granulocyte and hepatocyte gene programs. A solvent-exposed 14-aa "KVE" loop (aa 125-138) between the basic and zipper regions folds into a β-turn unique among rat C/EBP paralogs, presenting a conformational epitope preserved after DNA binding and fixation. Affinity-purified antibodies targeting this loop trace native CEBPA in bone-marrow myeloblasts, hepatic parenchyma, and adipocyte nuclei, delivering crisp nuclear puncta and single-band clarity on immunoblots with no cross-reaction to CEBPB or CEBPD.
