Rat cardiotrophin-like cytokine factor 1 (CLCF1) is a 28-kDa interleukin-6 family cytokine predominantly expressed in rat heart, lung, kidney, and immune cells. It forms a complex with ciliary neurotrophic factor receptor (CNTFR) and gp130 co-receptor, activating downstream JAK-STAT and MAPK signaling. Key functions include regulating rat cardiac remodeling, neuronal survival, immune modulation, and tissue repair. Critical for cardiovascular homeostasis, neuroprotection, and inflammatory response regulation, its dysregulation associates with heart failure, neurodegenerative diseases, and autoimmune disorders.
