Rat calcitonin is a peptide hormone produced by the parafollicular cells (C-cells) of the thyroid gland. It is involved in calcium homeostasis by regulating blood calcium levels. Calcitonin inhibits osteoclast activity, reducing bone resorption and calcium release from bones. It also acts on the kidneys to decrease calcium reabsorption. This hormone is essential for maintaining calcium balance and is involved in bone metabolism.

This product is shipped with wet ice packs. Store at -20°C on receipt (up to 2 years). Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody.
