Target Information

Rat Bcl2/Adenovirus E1B 19kDa Interacting Protein 3 (BNIP3) is a pro-apoptotic protein involved in regulating cell death and mitochondrial dynamics. It interacts with Bcl-2 family members to promote apoptosis and is also implicated in cellular responses to hypoxia. BNIP3 can induce mitochondrial permeabilization and mediate autophagy, playing a role in both cell survival and death pathways. Its expression is regulated under various stress conditions, making it a key factor in maintaining cellular homeostasis and an important target for studying cell fate decisions and stress responses.
