Target Information

Rat ABCA9 is a large multi-pass membrane transporter with conserved ATP-binding and lipid-interacting domains that maintain stable protein conformation under physiological conditions. It accumulates prominently within lipid-processing mesenchymal cell populations and assembles oligomeric complexes embedded in plasma membrane lipid bilayers. Its extensive energy-dependent lipid transport architecture and tissue-restricted expression distinguish it from soluble secreted cytokines, cytoplasmic signaling adaptors and nuclear transcription factors with simplified single-domain assemblies widely distributed across common somatic cell subgroups.
