Target Information
Rat Artemin is a neurotrophic growth factor within the GDNF family, produced by Schwann cells, smooth muscle, and epithelial tissues. It binds the GFRα3-RET receptor complex to promote survival, axon guidance, and migration of sympathetic and sensory neurons. Artemin also supports vasculogenesis and tissue repair by stimulating endothelial cell growth and modulating inflammatory responses. As a key regulator of neuronal maintenance and vascular remodeling, it is an important target for studies of neuropathy, regeneration, and angiogenesis.
