Rat ANGPT4 is a secreted glycoprotein ligand with conserved fibrinogen-like structural domains that maintain stable protein conformation under physiological conditions. It is generated by endothelial and stromal cell populations and released into extracellular matrix spaces. Its soluble multi-domain ligand architecture and vascular tissue-biased expression separate it from membrane-bound receptors, cytoplasmic scaffolding adaptors and chromatin-interacting nuclear transcriptional regulators with simplified single-domain assemblies and constitutive expression across non-vascular somatic tissues.
