Target Information

Rat 15-lipoxygenase-2 (ALOX15B) is a 75 kDa non-heme iron enzyme whose N-terminal β-barrel and C-terminal catalytic domain insert dioxygen into arachidonic acid at carbon 15, generating 15-HPETE. A solvent-exposed 16-aa "KVE" loop (aa 420-435) between the iron-binding helix and the catalytic lid folds into a β-hairpin unique among rat lipoxygenases, presenting a conformational epitope preserved after membrane association and fixation. Affinity-purified antibodies targeting this loop trace native ALOX15B in prostatic epithelium, skin sebaceous glands, and corneal epithelium, delivering crisp cytoplasmic puncta and single-band clarity on immunoblots with no cross-reaction to 5-LOX or 12-LOX.

Target Rat 15-Lipoxygenase-2
Target Synonym ALOX15B; LOX15B; 15-LOX-2; Arachidonate 15-lipoxygenase type II; Lipoxygenase 15, Type B
