Target Information

Porcine Tumor Necrosis Factor Beta (TNF-β) is a cytokine involved in immune responses and inflammation. It is produced by various cells, including T cells and macrophages. TNF-β binds to TNF receptors, activating signaling pathways that lead to the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and the regulation of immune responses. It plays a role in cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. In piglets, TNF-β is involved in innate immunity and has been implicated in antiviral responses, such as against Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus (PRRSV) infection. TNF-β also participates in the regulation of immune cell activation and function. Its expression can be up-regulated in response to viral infections, contributing to the immune defense mechanisms in pigs.
