Target Information

Porcine neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) is a multifunctional protein involved in innate immunity and tissue repair. It is expressed in neutrophils and other immune cells, where it contributes to antimicrobial defense by binding bacterial siderophores. NGAL also participates in the regulation of inflammation and tissue remodeling. In the kidneys, it serves as a biomarker for acute kidney injury, indicating cellular stress and damage.
