Target Information
Porcine kidney injury molecule 1 (KIM1) is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein predominantly expressed in renal epithelial cells. It contains an extracellular immunoglobulin-like domain, a mucin-like region, a transmembrane segment, and a short intracellular tail. This protein localizes to the apical membrane of kidney tubule cells under specific physiological conditions. Its distinctive domain structure and kidney-enriched distribution clearly distinguish it from other renal and transmembrane markers.
