Target Information
Mouse Wnt1 Inducible Signaling Pathway Protein 1 (WISP1) is a secreted, cysteine-rich matricellular protein of the CCN family. It is rapidly up-regulated by Wnt/β-catenin and TGF-β signals in mesenchymal and epithelial cells, where it promotes proliferation, survival, and extracellular-matrix deposition through integrin and MAPK pathways. WISP1 is highly expressed in developing bone, cartilage, lung, and healing wounds, coordinating stem-cell expansion and tissue repair. As a key mediator of Wnt-driven remodeling, WISP1 is an important target for studies of regeneration, fibrosis, and skeletal biology.
