Mouse Vav 1 oncogene (VAV1) is a cytoplasmic guanine nucleotide exchange factor with conserved functional domains involved in intracellular signal transmission. It contains tandem CH, DH, PH, SH2 and SH3 domains that support protein interaction and conformational regulation. This protein is mainly distributed in hematopoietic cells and localizes to the cytoplasm and perimembranous regions. It shows high structural conservation in immune cell lineages and participates in the assembly of signaling complexes, distinguishing it from other regulatory GEFs in non-hematopoietic tissues.
