Target Information

Mouse VEGFA is a homodimeric glycoprotein that plays a crucial role in angiogenesis and vascular permeability. It induces proliferation, migration, and survival of endothelial cells, promoting blood vessel formation. VEGFA exists in multiple isoforms, with VEGF-165 being the most abundant and active form. It binds to two main tyrosine kinase receptors, VEGFR-1 (Flt-1) and VEGFR-2 (KDR/Flk-1), which are predominantly expressed on endothelial cells. VEGFA is upregulated under hypoxic conditions and is a key factor in tumor progression and metastasis.
