Target Information
Mouse ubiquitin cross reactive protein (UCRP) is a secreted interferon-inducible protein of the ubiquitin-like family, a core regulator of innate immune response and cellular stress signaling. It features a conserved N-terminal ubiquitin-homology domain, a central flexible linker region, and a C-terminal domain critical for protein conjugation and receptor interaction. It localizes to the cytoplasm, extracellular fluids and cell surfaces of mouse immune, epithelial and fibroblast cells, with negligible levels in resting tissues. The protein mediates antiviral defense and immune cell activation, with conserved motifs for binding to ubiquitin receptors and signaling adaptors. Mouse UCRP shares core functional domains with mammalian orthologs, and has distinct immunomodulatory specificity differentiating it from ubiquitin and ISG15.
