Target Information

Mouse tomoregulin 1 (TOM1) is a transmembrane glycoprotein of the tomoregulin family. It features a conserved extracellular cysteine-rich domain, a single transmembrane segment and a cytoplasmic tail with protein-binding motifs critical for structural stability. It localizes to cell membranes of mouse embryonic tissues, neural cells and epithelial layers, with negligible levels in adult muscle and liver. The protein mediates cell adhesion and signal modulation, with conserved motifs for intermolecular interaction. Mouse TOM1 shares core functional domains with mammalian orthologs, and has distinct tissue specificity differentiating it from TOM2 and TOM3.
