Target Information
Mouse TNF receptor associated factor 2 (TRAF2) is an intracellular adaptor protein encoded by the Traf2 gene in Mus musculus, mapped to chromosome 1. It belongs to the TRAF protein family, featuring a conserved N-terminal RING finger domain, multiple zinc-finger motifs and a C-terminal TRAF domain critical for interactions. It localizes to cytoplasm and cell membrane, with ubiquitous expression in mouse tissues and enrichment in immune organs, spleen and thymus. The protein mediates receptor-proximal signal assembly, with conserved motifs for protein binding and oligomerization. Mouse TRAF2 shares core functional domains with mammalian orthologs, and has distinct binding specificity differentiating it from TRAF1, TRAF3 and other family members.
