Mouse Thrombospondin 3 (THBS3) is a secreted, calcium-binding glycoprotein belonging to the thrombospondin family. It localizes to skeletal muscle, tendon, and cardiac tissue, where it modulates cell-matrix interactions, collagen fibrillogenesis, and tissue elasticity. THBS3 interacts with integrins and latent TGF-β complexes, influencing myofiber maturation and extracellular matrix architecture. As a key regulator of connective-tissue organization, THBS3 is an important target for studies of muscle development, cardiac remodeling, and fibrosis.
