Target Information
Mouse tenascin X (TNX) is a secreted extracellular matrix glycoprotein of the tenascin family, a key regulator of tissue architecture and homeostasis. It features conserved N-terminal tenascin assembly domains, tandem fibronectin type III repeats, a C-terminal fibrinogen-like globular domain, and motifs critical for structural stability and ligand interaction. It localizes to mouse connective tissues including skin, tendons and blood vessel walls, with negligible levels in neural and epithelial tissues. The protein mediates extracellular matrix remodeling and cell adhesion modulation, with conserved binding sites for collagens and integrins. Mouse TNX shares core functional domains with mammalian orthologs, and has distinct tissue distribution differentiating it from TNC and TNR.
