Target Information

Mouse syntrophin beta 1 (SNTB1) is a peripheral membrane adaptor protein of the syntrophin family, a core mediator of signaling complex assembly at the muscle cell membrane. It features two conserved PDZ domains critical for binding transmembrane and cytoskeletal proteins, a pleckstrin homology domain for lipid interaction, and a C-terminal syntrophin-unique domain. It localizes predominantly to the sarcolemma of mouse skeletal and cardiac myocytes, as well as neuronal synapses, with negligible expression in non-muscle and non-neuronal tissues. The protein mediates the linkage between ion channels, receptors and the actin cytoskeleton, with conserved structural motifs differentiating it from SNTB2 and other syntrophin isoforms.
