Specifications
Target Information
Mouse signal transducing adaptor molecule 2 (STAM2) is a cytosolic adaptor protein with conserved modular domains, a core mediator of intracellular signal transduction cascades. It features an N-terminal VHS domain for vesicle trafficking and cargo recognition, a central SH3 domain for protein-protein interaction, and a C-terminal ubiquitin-interacting motif. It localizes predominantly to the cytoplasm and endosomal membranes of mouse hematopoietic cells, epithelial cells and fibroblasts, with negligible expression in mature erythrocytes. The protein mediates the assembly of signaling complexes, with conserved structural motifs differentiating it from the homologous STAM1 protein.
