Mouse SHC2 is a cytoplasmic signal adaptor containing conserved SH2 and PTB interaction domains that maintain stable protein conformation under physiological conditions. It accumulates at membrane-adjacent cytoplasmic regions of neuronal, epithelial and hematopoietic cell groups. Its cytosolic signal-transducing structural framework and widespread tissue expression separate it from cell-surface receptors, secreted soluble ligands and intranuclear transcriptional regulators with streamlined single-domain assemblies and static single-compartment subcellular localization profiles.
