Mouse SGK3 is a cytoplasmic serine/threonine kinase containing conserved catalytic kinase domains and regulatory binding regions. It maintains stable folded conformation under physiological conditions and distributes in endosomal and cytosolic compartments across epithelial and mesenchymal cell subsets. Its intracellular enzymatic structure and multi-compartment distribution distinguish it from cell-surface transmembrane receptors, secreted soluble signaling polypeptides and intranuclear transcriptional regulators with simplified single-domain assemblies and static single-site subcellular localization patterns.
