Mouse SEMA3A is a secreted extracellular protein structured with conserved semaphorin domains that maintain stable folding under physiological conditions. It is synthesized by neuronal and stromal cell populations and released into interstitial tissue spaces throughout neural and peripheral tissues. Its soluble secreted form and characteristic multi-modular semaphorin architecture distinguish it from transmembrane surface receptors, cytoplasmic catalytic enzymes and intranuclear transcriptional regulators with compact single-domain assemblies and fixed static subcellular localization profiles.
