Target Information
Mouse rho associated coiled coil containing protein kinase 1 (ROCK1) is a serine/threonine kinase encoded by Rock1 gene in Mus musculus, mapped to chromosome 12. It belongs to the AGC kinase family, featuring an N-terminal kinase domain, a central coiled-coil region and a C-terminal pleckstrin homology domain. ROCK1 acts as a downstream effector of Rho GTPases, mediating cytoskeleton reorganization, cell adhesion and cytoskeletal dynamics. It localizes to cytoplasm and cell membrane, with ubiquitous expression across mouse tissues and enriched levels in heart, brain and vascular smooth muscles. Mouse ROCK1 shares conserved functional motifs with mammalian orthologs, with distinct phosphorylation sites critical for activation and downstream signal transduction in cells.
