Target Information
Mouse Retinol Binding Protein 4 (RBP4) is a 21 kDa plasma protein primarily synthesized in the liver and adipose tissue. It functions as the specific carrier for retinol (vitamin A) in the blood, transporting it from the liver to peripheral tissues. RBP4 forms a complex with transthyretin (TTR) in plasma to prevent renal filtration. This protein also plays a role in immune regulation and has been implicated in insulin resistance and metabolic disorders.
