Mouse RETNLB is a secreted cysteine-rich protein with conserved resistin-type structural domains that maintain stable protein conformation under physiological conditions. It is secreted into extracellular spaces by intestinal epithelial and immune cell populations across mucosal tissues. Its soluble extracellular structural features and gastrointestinal-biased expression distinguish it from membrane-bound receptors, cytoplasmic scaffolding adaptors and intranuclear transcriptional regulators with streamlined single-domain assemblies and static single-compartment subcellular localization profiles.
