Target Information

Mouse regenerating islet-derived protein 3 beta (Reg3b) is a 17 kDa secreted C-type lectin bearing an N-terminal signal peptide and a single carbohydrate-recognition domain that docks to peptidoglycan on Gram-positive bacterial envelopes. Released from pancreatic acinar cells and intestinal crypts, it polymerizes into fibrils that perforate microbial membranes while sparing host glycocalyx. The surface-exposed β2-β3 loop presents a conformational epitope accessible in both monomeric and filamentous forms, enabling specific capture from serum, pancreatic juice, or luminal washes. Affinity-purified antibodies detect native Reg3b at femtogram sensitivity without cross-reacting with paralogous Reg3a or Reg3g.
