Mouse PCDH1 is a type I transmembrane cell adhesion protein with repeated extracellular cadherin domains that sustain stable protein conformation under physiological conditions. It is predominantly expressed in neuronal and epithelial cell populations across multiple organ systems. Its multi-domain membrane-bound adhesion architecture and tissue-restricted expression distinguish it from soluble secreted signaling ligands, cytoplasmic scaffolding mediators and chromatin-associated nuclear transcriptional regulators with simplified single-domain assemblies and widespread ubiquitous expression throughout somatic tissues.
