Target Information

Mouse Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase Receptor Type S (PTPRS) is a trans-membrane phosphatase composed of extracellular fibronectin-like domains and tandem intracellular phosphatase units. It is constitutively expressed on neurons, glia, and epithelial cells, where it dephosphorylates tyrosine residues on cytoskeletal, adhesion, and signaling proteins to modulate axon guidance, cell motility, and synaptic strength. The ectodomain mediates homophilic binding and serves as a cell-surface receptor, while the catalytic tails counterbalance kinase signaling. Antibodies to PTPRS provide precise tools for mapping phospho-tyrosine control networks in mouse brain, spinal cord, and epithelial tissues.
